The RNAi Consortium (TRC)

Introduction

The RNAi Consortium (TRC) is based on a scientific collaboration of six MIT- and Harvard-associated institutions and five international life sciences organizations. The goal of the RNAi Consortium is to use the RNAi technology to create widely available research reagents (RNAi libraries) for targeted gene silencing in human and mouse.

The RNAi Consortium shRNA Library

The reagents are composed of short hairpin RNA (shRNAs) sequences carried in lentiviral vectors arrayed in 96-well plates.

Lentiviral vector pLKO.1 enables transduction of primary and non-dividing cell lines and facilitates creation of stable knockdowns (via introduction of antibiotic resistance genes).
